Andrés Palop

Andrès Palop Cervera is a former football player who was born in October 22th 1973 in L'Alcúdia, València. He played as a goalkeeper and is a legend of Sevilla FC.

Palop started playing football aged 8 in his hometown club, and with 17 years he disputed an international sub-20 tournament, and at the end of it, received a call from València CF. He joined and played for the youth team until he was relented to CD Oliva and Gimnàstic de València. Later, he was relented to Villarreal CF, where he was part of the promotion team to the spanish first division. The next year Villarreal descended and he returned to València. He stayed 6 seasons in València, winning two leagues, a UEFA Cup and a European Supercup. Later he joined Sevilla FC, and the first two years there he won two UEFA Cups. The next season, he was a hero for the club, scoring a late equalizer against Shaktar Donetsk in a UEFACup match that they finally won. The same year in the UEFA Cup final against Espanyol, he stopped 3 penalties. In 2006/07 season, he won the European Supercup and the King's Cup. In 2013 he joined Bayer Leverkusen, where he played 1 season and then  retired in 2014.
